You can feel the futon slats through this mattress., February 17, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase I ordered the five inch mattress because the current 8 inch mattress puts me up too high for my feet to touch the floor- I'm 5'10. This 5 inch mattress solves the height problem but I can distinctly feel each futon slat with my butt when I'm sitting on it.
I put it on top of my queen sized mattress as a pillow topper and it's a luxurious addition. The old 8 inch mattress is back on the futon frame.
It says the cover is not removable, but it does unzip. When you unzip it, a bunch of pressed cotton stuffing falls out. Don't unzip it.
This doesn't seem like it will last a very long time.

I needed a firm mattress and soft at the time and I had tried everything .. until it occurred to me that this could be the solution. And it has been the best, for very little money.
